This program is designed for beginners who’ve never or have had little dance experience but have the desire to learn. There is no experience necessary to participate in this program, only the interest and desire to learn more about one’s own creative possibilities.
This program will focus on developing technical skills through a structured movement class. Each class will do a set warm-up, patterns across the floor and learn new choreography.
Teen Ballet (Ages 13 - 18; 60 minutes) This is an introductory ballet class for teens. Students will be provided with a basic understanding of ballet technique. It will encourage students to improve posture and grace as well as teach self-confidence. If you have no ballet experience or are unfamiliar with ballet terminology then Teen Ballet is for you.
Teen Jazz (Ages 13 - 18; 60 minutes) This class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of lyrical and jazz dance. The format will include a warm-up isolation exercises, and locomotor movements. Finishing class with combinations, the students will learn to utilize all the elements of lyrical and jazz technique while challenging their coordination, memory, and their ability to develop their own personal style.
